A Conference on True Love and Chastity

Tungod niining umaabot ug makasaysayanong Kanonisasyon ni ‘San Pedro Calungsod’ nga usa ka batan-ong Bisaya, martir ug katekista, daghan na kaayo ang gihimong pagpangandam karon, ilabi na ang programa alang atong mga batan-on.

Ug gikalipay kaayo namo sa Commission on Youth ang pagdawat niining gi-offer sa atong Talahurong Arsobispo sa Sugbo, Archbishop Jose Palma, nga usa ka conference alang gayud sa mga batan-on, kabahin sa “True love and Chastity.”

Mao kini ang tipik sa sulat-imbitasyon sa atong Talahurong Arsobispo, “As the date of the Canonization of Blessed Pedro Calungsod draws near, it is urgent that everyone is spiritually prepared for the event.  Thus, among other things, I have tasked the Archdiocesan Shrine of Blessed Pedro Calungsod, together with the Global Corporate Solutions Inc., to organize a conference to promote awareness and the spreading of the legacy of Blessed Pedro Calungsod.  The conference is entitled “Youth and the Path to Greatness.” (A Conference on True Love and Chastity: A Legacy of Blessed Pedro Calungsod).

The conference will be held on Thursday, the 30th of August 2012 at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Hotel in Lahug, Cebu City.  The activity will focus on current issues on Chastity and Modesty and practical ways of helping the youth, educators and parents to counter the negative trend on sensuality and sex education.”

Si Ms. Leah Darrow, nga naila kaayo sa reality show nga America’s Next Top Model, maoy usa sa mga speakers atol niining umaabot nga conference.  Aron makaila kaayo kamo kaniya, mamahimong tan-awon siya sa YouTube, ilabi na ang pagpa-ambit sa iyang ‘conversion’ gikan sa pagka-luho o pagka-kalibutanon, ngadto na sa iyang pagpangalad sa simbahan.

Laing speaker mao si Mr. Chris Stefanick, ang Director sa Youth ug Campus Ministry sa Archdiocese of Denver, nga makita kanunay diha sa programa sa telebisyon, ilabi na sa EWTN.  Hanas kaayo siya sa topic kabahin sa True Love and Chastity; gani aduna siyay libro’ng sinulat nga giulohan og ‘Raising Pure Teens,’ co-authored by Jason Evert, ang laing inila nga mamumolong ngadto sa mga batan-on.
